Project Room

A series with the
proof already shot.

Halal Cart Dreams will be a six-episode, half-hour drama with comic runners, in English and Egyptian Arabic, from Rock Factory Films in association with Gritty Dove. The proof of concept is a completed 13-minute film, now in its festival run.

Where It Stands

The Project

The racket isn't corrupt.
It's fictional.

Omar, newly arrived from Egypt, buys the option to own a halal cart with his whole life savings and learns that every vendor on the street pays a monthly envelope to a landlord nobody has met. When he discovers the man has been dead for seven years, he has a choice: free the block, or become the ghost. He chooses the ghost. Season One is the consequence.

The American Dream is the antagonist. Omar chases standing, not money, and the system he inherits runs on nothing but fear. The series will sit in the lane of The Sopranos, Breaking Bad and How to Make It in America, built for a premium home.
